The Pride of Normanton Awards."celebrating local heroes"
This is Normantons unique opportunity to nominate a special person who has contributed extraordinary things within your local community. You can choose anyone who you think deserves recognition for their acts or achievements - be it a friend, relative, a well - known figure or even a stranger.
You can nominate by filling in a nomination form at the All Saints tent at the Gala, or alternatively you can download the form from this website. There will be nomination boxes and forms at various shops on the high street and other communal areas within the town.
Nominations will run from 30th August - 17th September
All you have to do is explain who you are nominating and why you think they deserve recognition, what they have contributed to the local community, how they have shown bravery or how they have displayed dedication to helping others in need.
There will be a various categories and prizes will be awarded for each one and in addition there will be an overall winner.
Nominations are to be submitted be midnight on the 17/09/08
An award ceremony will take place on the Saturday 28th at the Alice Bacon Centre in recognition of the winners and nominees.
Awards will be presented by Claire Young who was the runner up in this years BBC One series ‘The Apprentice’.

Normanton Gala, 13th September 2008.
This year the church will be at the Normanton Gala at Haw Hill Park for this great annual event.We will be taking place in the pressesion through the town to the park.
A small marquee has been loaned to the church this year to "show the church to the town". There will be displays from different groups within the church: Men Awake,WOW,Youth Ministry,Childrens work, Christians against Poverty.
The Samba Band and Free Spirit will bring Live music to the event. Refreshments will be on hand as well as a
seating area to rest your weary legs. There will be an area for "The Pride of Normanton Awards", where the public can fill in their nomination forms.A section of the marquee will be provided as a quiet area for prayer and councilling.
As with all these major events your help is needed. If you can give any time to the Gala through helping
with assembly/disassembly.Marquee duties with the public then please put your name and number on the
sheet on the noticeboard in church. Alternatively mail me at webmaster@allsaintsnormanton.org.
